This policy describes how MunchMap ("we," "our," or "the app"), operated by Glumpo Group, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application and related services.
MunchMap is a restaurant discovery app for the Triangle region of North Carolina, operated by Glumpo Group. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at support@munchmapapp.org.
When you use the app to find nearby restaurants, we use your device's location to identify restaurants close to you. Your location is used only at the moment of your request and is not stored against your personal identity.
The app requests camera access only to scan QR codes posted at participating restaurants. Camera input is processed on your device. We do not store or transmit images or video.
The app generates a random, anonymous identifier when you first open it. This identifier cannot be linked to your name, email, or other personal information. It is used to prevent abuse of features such as restaurant check-ins (for example, preventing the same device from checking in to the same restaurant multiple times per day).
If you are a restaurant owner who claims a listing through our owner dashboard, we collect your email address to authenticate you via a magic-link sign-in. We do not require or store a password.
When you spin the cuisine wheel, view a restaurant, or scan a QR code, we log the event together with your anonymous device identifier. This helps us understand which restaurants are being discovered through the app and improve search results.

These providers may process limited data on our behalf as required to deliver the service. None receive your personal identity from us, as we do not collect that information for regular users.
Anonymous interaction events are retained indefinitely in aggregated form to support service quality and analytics. Restaurant owner accounts and associated data are retained for as long as the account is active. You may request deletion of your owner account at any time by emailing support@munchmapapp.org.
MunchMap is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we may have done so, please contact us and we will remove the information.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. Because we do not collect personal information from regular app users, most of these rights apply primarily to restaurant owners. To exercise any of these rights, email support@munchmapapp.org.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide additional notice within the app or by email where appropriate.
